BECOMING A BETTER ADVOCATE MEMORIAL DRAFTING COMPETITION

This is to announce the 2018 edition of the “Becoming A Better Advocate Memorial Drafting Competition”. The competition is open to Undergraduates pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree in any recognized Nigerian University.

The aim of the competition is to groom law students on the applicability of the substantive law being taught in their various classes to practical scenarios.

The competition further aims to develop the participant’s advocacy skills, drafting skills, enhance the ability to think like a lawyer and the use of English language. The competition will also prepare the students for the Nigeria Law School as well as the practice world of the legal profession.

 

PRIZE

  1. Two winners with the best drafts will be selected. The winners will be awarded a cash prize of #10,000.00 each.
  2. A Certificate of Excellence will also be presented to the two winners.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • The competition is open to Undergraduates pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree in any recognized Nigerian University.

 

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

  1. Get a copy of the instructional video guide – Becoming A Better Advocate: The Art of Mooting, Mock Trials, Public Speaking & Client Counselling

 

  1. Send a picture of your purchase receipt as an attachment to becomingaba1@gmail.com. Include your name, institution, level, valid phone number and email address.
  • NOTE: If you have previously purchased the video guide and interested in participating, send the details of the person you purchased it from to becomingaba1@gmail.com for verification. Include your name, institution, level, valid phone number and email address.

 

  1. A code will be generated for you within 24 hours.

 

  1. Prepare your Memorial or Brief of arguments based on the scenario and the MEMORIAL PREPARATION GUIDELINES below
