LIMITATIONS TO THE APPLICATION OF FOREIGN JUDGEMENTS IN NIGERIA

It is the generally accepted view that the powers of various courts are limited by their territorial jurisdiction. The Judgment given in a particular jurisdiction may have no force or power beyond the jurisdiction in which the Judgment was given save where other jurisdictions have agreed to such judgments to be enforceable in their territories.
